Greetings all!

Opulent Voice end-to-end has started to work, and we'll talk about that
major milestone, and next steps.

Microphone-to-airwaves involves Interlocutor, the human-radio interface,
which sends frames to any IP address. When this is an Opulent Voice modem
like Locutus, then an application layer program in the modem hardware
handles delivery of the frames to the modem.

This bridge program on the ARM in the Zynq on the PLUTO is called Dialogus.

So, we have microphone/keyboard/data => Interlocutor => Dialogus => Locutus
=> airwaves

As reported in the last newsletter (July), you can try out our
demonstration terrestrial repeater system, hosted on ORI linode. There will
be a substantial update about all of this, and what's left to do on
Haifuraiya, in the next newsletter (late August early September).

A custom hardware path is funded, but if you have a computer that can run
Python and a PLUTO SDR, then you can use Opulent Voice today. Other
modem/radio ports are entirely possible based on the interest level we saw
at DEFCON and the sorts of questions people were asking. If you're
interested in porting our modular modem to an SDR other than the PLUTO,
then get in touch and we'll support you.
