TOPIC: Fixed-Point Python Co-simulation.
WHO: Dr. Harry Commin | Lead FPGA/SoC Firmware Engineer | Enclustra

JOIN THE TALK:
Fixed-point arithmetic is the first choice for implementing numerical
algorithms in digital hardware because it is highly efficient. However,
this efficiency (in terms of power, silicon area, latency, and timing)
comes at the expense of a higher skill requirement for the developer.
Despite the widespread use of fixed-point arithmetic, the skills needed and
the challenges faced are often underestimated.

In this webinar, we present real-world examples highlighting the challenges
of fixed-point development and how to overcome those challenges, from
algorithm design and performance analysis to HDL implementation and
verification. We also show how a fixed-point software model (written in a
convenient high-level language such as Python) can form the basis of a
powerful and robust fixed-point development flow. All attendees are
provided complete code examples (based on Enclustra’s free, open-source
fixed-point math library “en_cl_fix“).

I'll be there and will write up a summary.
