Thank you to Rob Freeburn, John Wright, Dave Kaltenborn and many others in
San Diego ARRL for some very nice support for this event. IMS2023 is a
major conference and the microwave bands are crucial for what we do and for
amateur radio's future. A substantial portion of what ORI does on FCC TAC
is attempting to preserve our microwave band allocations. They are greatly
desired by industry and there are very few people fighting to defend them.

Steven Goodgame is sending a bunch of ARRL goodies and handouts to have at
the social. GLAARG will have some custom handouts, there will be a "hidden"
CTF, some prizes, food, drinks, and hopefully some successful satellite
contacts from a very unexpected individual. The venue is gorgeous and is a
big improvement over the original outdoor-only site at the Bayfront Hilton.

And, we'll have some new demos and posters for ORI work! We'll be
premiering at least two innovative designs.

IMS2023 should be a very good event for us in terms of technical volunteer
recruitment and spreading awareness of what we do.

We've had a *lot* of trouble from the traditional amateur radio community
in this regard, but refusing to give up and working hard to represent what
truly needs to be done at events like IMS2023, DEFCON, and many other
events continues to pay off.

My hopes are that eventually the sheer power of our volunteer community's
merit and performance will win over the amateur community. However, we
cannot wait for that. Life is literally too short!

If you can rep us at an event and show off our work, then let any of our
board know and we'll do all we can to enable it. We strive for outreach to
be as low stress and as fun as possible.

Thank you to all working to promote open source digital radio work.
