Hello Michelle,

The OSI is thrilled to announce our first ever, around-the-world State of
the Source Summit
<https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2118&qid=>
happening September 9 - 11.

The State of the Source addresses non-technical topics that foster
development and community--the licenses that enable collaboration, the
practices that promote contribution, and issues confronting cooperation.
The goal is to help build local communities by engaging participants from
around the globe.

Through an innovative program that follows the sun, regional projects and
communities in every timezone are invited to create and deliver content
relative to local issues and interests, while also engaging with the OSI’s
international audience.

HOLD THE DATE (actually… hold the time zones)

You are invited to visit https://opensource.org/StateOfTheSource
<https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2311&qid=284035>
for more information about the event. There you will also find a Google
calendar where you can download an entry to “hold the dates” on your
calendar in your local time zone.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The State of the Source will be by and for the global community, who
themselves are working across diverse communities and projects. The program
will consist of their shared experiences and expertise in the following
subject areas:

   - Open Source Licenses and the OSI
   <https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2119&qid=>
   - Projects & People
   <https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2120&qid=>
   - Principles, Policy, & Practices
   <https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2121&qid=>
   - “Hot Topics”
   <https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2122&qid=>
   (what did we miss?)

State of the Source seeks both experienced presenters, as well as those who
may not have had the opportunity to directly participate or present at
traditional, in-person or even virtual events. Those interested in
submitting a presentation proposal should visit
https://opensource.org/StateOfTheSource#CFP
<https://opensource.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=2123&qid=>
