Goodness gracious. This really underlines the need to use an open standard.
Despite being wildly popular because there are cheap ICs available for it,
providing good range and acceptable speed at a low cost, LoRa is a patented
and poorly-understood protocol. In this case the syncword is not well
understood outside of the company.
