<div dir="ltr">Some additional context:<br><br>There’s a lot of #ai and machine learning assumptions involved in these FCC TAC topics. Traditionally, we’ve not seen much regulation on receivers from the FCC. The only exception that I know of is the 1990s US rules on not being able to monitor cellular phone traffic. However, a pile of promises from AI/ML require receiver capabilities that may not currently exist. The bedrock assumption (for example) in the amateur radio services is that transmitters are regulated but receivers are not.<br><br>Pulling receivers into the “loop” of regulated communications is a big step. This needs to be weighed and considered. <br><br>I’d very much like to hear the broadest possible opinions from anyone that might be affected by any potential recommendations that this advisory group makes. The TAC has quite a bit of influence at the US FCC.<br><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">-Michelle Thompson<br><br><div dir="ltr"><br></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Tue, Apr 30, 2024 at 9:03 AM Michelle Thompson <<a href="mailto:mountain.michelle@gmail.com">mountain.michelle@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Today’s 1000 US Pacific meetup is about FPGA work, and advisory group content.
