Mixing contemporary interviews, archival film, animation, and dialogue drawn from interviews conducted with Shannon himself, <em><a href="https://itsoc.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ee15312b4b2802698e57bb971&id=8f8dd808f1&e=dd09add411" style="color:#007c89;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">The Bit Player</a></em> tells the story of an overlooked genius who revolutionized the world, but never lost his childlike curiosity, and the ubiquitous impact of his discoveries on today’s science and technology. <br>

The film will be streamed for free through Zoom as part of ISIT2020 on Friday, June 26 at 11:15 am Pacific Time and will be followed by a panel discussion with Shannon’s MIT colleague Robert Gallager, film director Mark Levinson (<em>Particle Fever</em>), renowned information theorist David Tse and moderator Urbashi Mitra.</p>
