Greetings all!
Several things - reminder about our FPGA meetup tomorrow morning at 1000 US
Pacific. We have lots to talk about ranging from ITA2025 content of
interest to open source amateur radio to progress on Opulent Voice and how
close we are to getting the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine
Learning (ML) work onto FPGA dev boards. There's multiple sets of work
going on ranging from phased arrays (Charles Brain in the UK) to RTTY
Receivers (me and a few others in San Diego). Matthew Wishek is looking at
electronic design automation and HDL generation using LLMs, and I'm pretty
sure there's other work going on out there in the community.
So, now is the time to speak up about it! Our February "Inner Circle"
newsletter is coming together and we are looking for contributions. There's
a lot of AI/ML so far with the recent successful IEEE cross-listed meetup.
If you have an AI/ML project or want to see something of interest to
amateur radio covered, then please let us know.
Newsletter archive and sign up can be found here:

And, of course, as always, we are looking to broaden the topics. If you
have an update on open source digital work going on the amateur bands,
please let your team lead or your favorite director know!
Don't let "perfect" be the enemy of the "good" when it comes to an update
for the newsletter. People want to know what we're up to and are genuinely
interested in what you are doing, and are on your side.
Seen a cool puzzle or technical hack lately? Send it in. Have a fun photo
of work on your bench? We'd love to see that.
Finally, happy National Engineers Week - we will be celebrating here in San
Diego at the County Engineering Council annual awards banquet. It's a
really nice event with 400 or so in attendance. Photos and any good gossip
from the party will be in the newsletter :+D
Thank you to all helping us do ambitious things for open source digital
radio. We couldn't do it without your advice, activity, and support.
