I can personally vouch for Dr. Dorr.

If you are willing to mentor a team, then please get in touch? I'll pitch
in too.

Ms. Thompson,

This is Professor Barry Dorr from the Electrical and Computer Engineering
Department at SDSU. I am seeking a mentor for our team of ECEs and MEs
competing in a NASA student challenge. I prepared an announcement below.
Would you possibly be able to get it to the IEEE members? This is an
excellent (...and really fun!) opportunity for the right person.

Thanks, and Kind Regards, Barry

*Seeking an Industry Mentor for SDSU Lunabotics Challenge Team*

*This is Professor Barry Dorr. I am the instructor for the Senior Design
(Capstone) program for the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at SDSU. We have competed in the NASA’s Lunabotics Challenge
<https://www.nasa.gov/learning-resources/lunabotics-challenge/> for the
past four years. Besides doing well in the competitions, it has been a
great experience for our students and a source of pride for the University.
This year we are entering a team consisting of five Electrical and Computer
Engineering and five Mechanical Engineering Students. The students are
tasked to create a robot capable of performing operations on the lunar
surface in support of the Artemis Moon Exploration, and competing against
other schools at the Kennedy Space Center in May 2025. I am seeking a
mentor from industry who can guide this year’s team with navigation tasks
including collision avoidance and autonomy. This is an outstanding
opportunity to work with bright, motivated students and also help the
University. If you are interested, please send an email to me at
bdorr at sdsu.edu <bdorr at sdsu.edu>.*
