Going to Hamvention?

Want to talk about ORI SDR efforts? We have quite a few! See the
opportunity below.

If you can do this, let me or your favorite board member know at
hello at openresearch.institute

If you need any help with slides or coverage, we have your back.

Howdy SDR Aficionados!

This is a resend of this email which was sent out without a subject line
last time. In just a few short months the Dayton Hamvention will reconvene
in Xenia, OH -- specifically May 17-19. As is usual, the SDR Forum will be
on Friday afternoon from 1555-1700 Eastern Time (unless changed by the
Hamvention folks). You have been identified, either through past
participation in the SDR Forum, someone who nominated you, you wrote an
article with an SDR subject in an amateur publication, etc. as someone who
could provide a compelling presentation at the Forum.

The Forum will have the same format we've had in previous years: there will
be 2-4 speakers, each taking 10-20 minutes, to present an interesting SDRtopic.
Following all presentations, we will take questions from the audience for
any presenters or panelists. Most talks tend to be overview talks that whet
the appetite of the audience and send them searching for additional
information, but some do dive into more technical details. A mix of
presentation types is always welcome.

If you would like to present, I need the following information:

*Your Name*
*Callsign*
*Presentation Title*
*Desired Length (10-20 min)*
*Brief Description of presentation (2-4 sentences)*
*Speaker bio (this will be used to introduce you at the forum)*

We won't need your actual presentation until day-of or day-before so don't
feel pressured to get the presentation together today -- we just need to
know if you would like to present. Please send your details (listed above)
by *2/15/24* if you would like to present. This way we can get the
presentation details and presenters into the Hamvention publication and
website. If you know someone you think would be a good presenter, feel free
to forward this message. If we receive more than 4 submissions or the
desired length exceeds available time, we will need to "pick and choose."
We have only had to do this a couple of times, but if it does happen,
please forgive us!

*THANKS* for making the Hamvention SDR Forum the technical resource it has
been for many years!

73,
Steve, N5AC
