Thank you everyone for coming to ORI's FPGA meetup on 10 October 2023.

Here's the recap:

ORI Lab Tech Two James KJ7KJE reports air conditioning progress for Remote
Labs South. The lab lead submitted a provisional schedule to the ORI board
for operations. This is good news.

Paul KB5MU reports "all is well" at Remote Lab West.

Ken reports progress in working with Theseus Cores source code. There is a
Xilinx-optimized datapath implementing the fred harris paper approach cited
by the Theseus Cores team. Ken asked about getting a clean copy of the
paper. Accessible versions were vandalized across the most important
equations. Fortunately, a meeting participant was able to find the paper on
ResearchGate (thank you to Rick Hambly).

Matthew K. is interested in this polyphase filterbank work and is on Slack.

I gave a report about moving Simulink models for Neptune project from
Simulink to HDL with MATLAB HDL Coder. Progress reports on Slack in the
#fpga channel.

I reported about an upcoming meeting with an external satellite team this
coming week concerning the DVB-S2 encoder work, and several other
opportunities.

I discussed some roadblocks. We are still battling the API mismatch issue
with Analog Devices, with respect to their LibIO product. We still need
help with this.

Mathworks reached out this week, and we were able to give them a lot of
feedback that will be used in their products and to improve their embedded
buildroot linux. We will continue to promote open source to powerful
companies, highlighting the benefits and emphasizing that it requires
commitment and maintenance.

Thank you to everyone that supports our work! We're doing good things for
open source digital radio. Our work directly benefits amateur radio,
citizen science, and academic research.

All are welcome at our weekly meetups, which are usually recorded and then
followed by an open office hours, which is off the record.
