Hello everyone,

I know a lot of you are very interested in RISC-V. Here's a message about a
call for nominations to their board. If you know someone in open source
that would be a good fit for RISC-V, then let me know. I can help get that
done.

ORI is a community partner of RISC-V.

Subject: [allmem] RISC-V Board of Directors Election announcement and call
for nominations

Hello RISC-V Members,

We've made tremendous progress in RISC-V across the first quarter of 2022
and I am grateful to this community for coming together, making bold
strides forward, and engaging deeply in RISC-V. The value we bring through
engagement and strategic impact across the industry and within the RISC-V
community continues to grow. We are seeing the results across RISC-V
programs and in growth of technical contributions from RISC-V stakeholders.

*Call to Action!* I’m writing to you today in request for your thoughtful
and strategic nominees to represent RISC-V member elected representatives
on the RISC-V Board of Directors. We invite members to participate in
RISC-V governance as outlined in our governing documents
<https://riscv.org/membership/> as well as through our many RISC-V
committees and groups. All RISC-V members have a voice on the Board.

*Role of a Board Director. *Elected Directors are members of and vote on
behalf of their respective membership tier. Directors are expected to
attend all board meetings, which are currently held at 7am Pacific time on
the third Thursday of each month. At these meetings, they will represent
the other RISC-V members at their level in discussions as well as votes,
and will make themselves available for regular communication with the other
members at their level. Representatives will vote on behalf of their
membership tier, not for their specific companies. For more guidance on
board member expectations and requirements, see Article 1 of the Internal
Regulations
<https://riscv.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/RISC-V-Amended-Internal-Regulations-APPROVED-2022-Feb-17.pdf>.
Each board seat lasts for two years, provided that the Director’s
organization remains a member in good standing during that time.

The following seats will be elected:

   - 3 Director representatives for Premier TSC & Strategic members
   - 1 Director representative for Community Organization members
   - 1 Director representative for Community Individual members

*Nominations and election. *

Nominations are welcome May 2 - June 30, 2022. Any member in good standing
may self-nominate using the online form
<https://riscv.org/2022-elections/2022-elections-nominations/> and
candidates will be featured on our 2022 Elections website page
<https://riscv.org/2022-elections/>.

All members in good standing between July 1 – 31 may vote on the candidates
for their tier. A unique electronic ballot link will be sent to each
member’s voting contact on July 1. For those members unable to vote using
this method, we will accommodate votes by email on request.

Newly elected representatives will be announced and effective on August 1,
2022 and welcomed at the Board meeting on August 18.

Note for Organization Members: Ballot links will be sent to your
organization’s primary voting representative. Each organization may only
vote once. To confirm your organization’s primary voting representative,
please email elections at riscv.org.

*Summary dates for RISC-V Board election:*

   - May 2 - June 30. Nominations accepted and candidates posted on
   election web page
   - July 1 - July 31. Ballots sent to members, open for voting
   - August 1. Effective date and announcement of newly elected Directors
   - August 18. First board meeting to include newly elected Directors

I'm incredibly proud of the important role our Board of Directors and I
have in leading RISC-V as we build the open era of computing together with
stakeholders around the world. I look forward to continuing our progress
and invite you to engage deeply in our community.

Best
Calista
